На́до With the Dative Case
You are already familiar with the modal word на́до = it is necessary, needed. In this section, you see that it can be combined with dative case nouns and pronouns to specify “who needs” to do something.

Food Words
As you learn the words for food, be careful to note that some Russian words for fruits and vegetables will be used differently than in English. The following Russian food words behave like mass nouns, and so they are used in the singular only (like the English words fish and deer).
